ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The next meeting of the Leyland and District Crown Green Bowling League is the A.G.M. and will be held on:-

Monday, 16th November

at

Farington Conservative Club

Commence Time: 8:00pm

All motions to be put to the A.G.M. must be put in writing and in the hands of the secretary, no less than 14 days prior to this meeting.

*** Bowls Seminars ***
Seminars on the LAWS OF THE GAME of CROWN GREEN BOWLING in the Preston and Districts area will be starting on Thursday, 8th October at Ashton Bowling Club, Egerton Road, and will be held on the Second Thursday of each month up to and including March 2010, starting at 7:30pm.

These seminars are held to help both new and experienced bowlers to gain a better knowledge of the Laws of the Game. They are NOT intended to be used as a recruitment programme to get more Referees.

It is to ALL bowlers' advantage to have knowledge of the Laws of the Game and especially to Captains, who usually act as Referees at a League match.

You will be given the opportunity to take the Referees Local Exam in March to test your knowledge, but this is purely voluntary.

The total cost for attending the seminars is £6:00p at the start, with a further £3:00p in March if you wish to sit the exam.

All bowlers will be made most welcome.

VETERANS DAY
Congratulations go to Ken Clayton of Farington Conservative Club A on winning the Veterans Day competition.

In the final, Ken defeated Jim Dawber of Hind's Head A 15-5.

I was sorry to hear that from 87 teams only 28 entries were received, very poor!

RULES NOTICE
Players MUST be 60 years of age or more to be eligible to compete in the Veterans League.

Players aged 59 are allowed to register with the League for the said season, but CANNOT play until they attain the age of 60.

For any Captain or bowler that may want to look at previous season stats, data files have now been added to the bottom of the navigation menu.
In order to view the data files, you must first download and install the All View! Crown Green Bowling League Data System Viewer, (Read the instructions on how to do this on the All View download page), then select the season data file you want to look at.

A link has been added to the menu bar which will take you to the Roll of Honours page, I would appreciate any further details in bringing this page up to date.....view the page

You can follow the progress of your opponents (or any other division) in the league tables, match results and individual averages, that have been generated with Steve Blaymire's All But! Bowling Data System, as the season progresses.

I hope that what you see you find informative, and if you feel something is missing, please contact me, and if possible I will try to accommodate.

NOTE:
Some pages are quite large (over 100K) and may take a minute or two to download, please be patient, which I know you are (for sure!) and it will be worth it.
