*** NEXT LEAGUE MEETING ***
The next meeting of the Preston and District Young Vets Crown Green Bowling League is the Annual General Meeting and will be held on:-
Monday, 11th January 2010
Venue: Acregate Labour Club
Commence Time: 1:30pm
ALL CLUBS must ensure that a Delegate or Deputy attend Monthly Meetings. Failure to do so may result in a fine as stated in General Rule 17.
*** BOWLS SEMINARS ***
Seminars on the LAWS OF THE GAME of Crown Green Bowling in the Preston and Districts area will be starting on Thursday, 8th October at Ashton Bowling Club, Egerton Road, and will be held on the Second Thursday of each month up to and including March 2010, starting at 7:30p.m.
These seminars are held to help both new and experienced bowlers to gain a better knowledge of the Laws of the Game. They are NOT intended to be used as a recruitment programme to get more Referees.
It is to ALL bowlers' advantage to have knowledge of the Laws of the Game and especially to Captains, who usually act as Referees at a League match. You will be given the opportunity to take the Referees Local Exam in March to test your knowledge, but this is purely voluntary.
The total cost for attending the seminars is £6:00p at the start, with a further £3:00p in March if you wish to sit the exam.
All bowlers will be made most welcome.
*** 2010 BOWLS COMPETITION ***
Empire Services Club are now taking bookings for the Tetley Spring Cup which gets under way on Monday, 15th March 2010.

Geoff Foy represented the Young Vets League in the Champion of League Champions held on Saturday, 11th April 2009 at St Annes Ex Servicemen's Club. See the results.
