The One Day Merit Competition was held on Tuesday, 25th September at Thurlby Club, all games were 21 up starting off 3.

The Competition was won by defending Champion Richard Ascroft of Plungington Hotel.

This was some feat, as Richard, who had successfully defended the title last season had to do it the hard way this time around after being drawn out in the Preliminary Round and having to win 5 games to lift the Trophy again.

Winning the title again, now means that Richard has won the Trophy in 3 consecutive seasons, something that may never be matched!

A special word for beaten finalist Norman Hill of Parkfield Labour 'A', Norman bowled consistently well all afternoon, beating some fancied bowlers along the way to the Final, and put up a spirited fight in the Final.
